Machine Sewing Basics
Private Lessons
Beginners
Learn about your machine; how to use and take care of it, the latest and most useful sewing tools and how to use them, how to take basic measurements, what size pattern to purchase, and more.
Intermediates
Learn about reading a pattern, making changes to a pattern, pattern layout, selecting fabrics, and fabric preparation.
Winky Cherry Hand Sewing for Children
We will use the Winky Cherry series of Sewing Books: My First Sewing Book, My First Embroidery Book, My First Doll Book, My First Patchwork Book, and My First Quilting Book.
A student works their way through five levels of hand sewing, starting with the prerequisite course My First Sewing Book, and graduate into each succeeding course as their knowledge of hand sewing grows. This program is designed for children ages 6-10.
Hand Sewing Basics for Children and Adults
Learn what you want to know with customized lessons including:
- How to thread a needle
- How to make a knot
- Basic stitches for everyday use
- How to sew on a button
- and much more!
Hand Sewing for Intermediates
Do you already know the basics and would like to learn more? Customize your lessons to your own needs.
Teen Classes
We are now offering classes oriented towards teens in:
